The fish and shrimp are always good! This feedback is about the "renovation" of the store... what happened?! Why were trash bins separated? What's going with the wobbly "new" tables and the oversized seating booth?! The place looks so dark, grim and brown and feels so crowded even when there's only three people inside?! The tables and the floor are usually always clean, but this last time wasn't so much. Please bring back the old seating and stained glass.

Best Fish and Chips I have had in a while!!! Need to get back here ASAP! Crispy, tender, delicious. I have a friend who has been coming here for nearly 15 years and he said that this is one of those places that you can not judge from the outside and need to just give it a shot. Man oh man was he right! I can not wait to get back for the iconic fish and chips!

Hadn't been in a while because last time I went maybe 2 years ago the fish was not good. The fish was not fresh and the oil tastes old. Decided to give it another try, the place was packed the prices are way higher, and a whole new crew working there. The fish tastes really good, I'll still be making my own fries, but the fish you guys can do that. 4 stars because I have to make my fries.

It has been awhile since visiting Penguin's for fish so decided to hit them up on Friday night on 1-17-25 around 7pm. The food is so good here and I ordered my favorite which is the catfish dinner. It is amazing and the pieces are plentiful, they are not shy. The staff is very friendly and appreciative of the business they receive from customers. They deserve it because it is a great place to get different type of fish. Parking can be challenging but it's worth it.

A no frills fish market that is well worn from years of service. The food is good and fried to order. The young asian man (didn't get his name) is very upbeat and efficient. Ordered #17 fish and shrimp combo - you can choose your fish, I went with snapper since it is a bit thicker than a sole filet. Feel free to look at the case to preview your filets - I spotted Buffalo (iykyk) and will have to try it on my next visit. Fish batter - nice thin and crispy cornflour coating (not cornmeal) - I prefer this over heavy beer batter which is typical of fish and chips. Well seasoned without overpowering the fish. Fries - plenty, the entire bottom half of the cardboard container is fries - salt seasoned - no frills - the oil for the fries could have been fresher but thankfully the fries did not taste like they were cooked in the same oil as the fish. Hush puppies - legit! They add a little green chilli to the batter to give it that sweet corn and spicy flavor. You get two - that's plenty. Sometimes these can be dry and hard - not here, at least, not today. Potato Salad was fine - standard picnic salad you'd get from a deli. Hot Sauce - whoever chose it chose well - nice vinegary and it comes by the ramekin for perfect dipping. Tartar Sauce - generic packets - not bad - not great. I'll be back for a review on the Buffalo.

I ordered the #21 and it was fire! 6 pcs of filet of sole and 4 jumbo shrimp. I only wish I had ordered more shrimp because they were so delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful, they packed my ordered with every condiment I would need and then some. I don't expect to have onion rings with my fries, but it was a tasty surprise, very crunchy :) the place is small a few tables to dine in, I took mine to go, but there were others who were enjoying their food inside the restaurant. I will definitely be back!
